The CyHawk Gameball Run is an Army ROTC tradition dating back to 1986. Along with spreading awareness of Multiple Sclerosis in military veterans, Iowa and Iowa State's ROTC Programs run across the state to handoff the game ball for the annual CyHawk Run. ROTC cadets reflect on the run and its impact on communities across the state and describe the ROTC lifestyles in which they live.

Before Iowa City's independent movie theater, Filmscene reopened its doors in May of 2021 after closing during the Covid-19 Pandemic, the future of movie theaters was uncertain. Created earlier in the fall of 2021, the Iowa Skate Club is a flourishing community of skaters within the University of Iowa’s campus. The University of Iowa Dance Marathon is a student organization that provides year-round support to youth cancer patients and their families.
