Daniel is a freelance photojournalist and filmmaker based in Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas. Always inspired by his love of cinema and sports, Daniel combines both elements to highlight the passion and communities of the athletes through a documentarian lens.  Daniel freelances for Zuma Press Wire and Shutterstock Editorial and works regularly with Victory Boxing League, a growing professional boxing league in the heart of Dallas.

He previously worked as a photojournalist and filmmaker for the Daily Iowan and was a film editor on two feature-length documentaries out of the Daily Iowan Documentary Workshop. He is also a recipient of numerous awards from the Society of Professional Journalists, the Iowa Newspaper Association, and the Associated College Press. Daniel's work has been featured in: Sports Illustrated, Yahoo Sports, People, The New York Post, The Guardian, and The Cedar Rapids Gazette, among others.

In 2020, Daniel received a certificate from UI REACH, a transition program specializing in integrating individuals with intellectual and cognitive disabilities within the University of Iowa community and preparing them for life after REACH. In 2023, Daniel graduated from the University of Iowa with a bachelor’s degree in Cinematic Arts and a certificate in Disability Studies.
